Tikka vs R700

What's the best place to buy optics.....such as burris? Best pricing. The few places I've looked at seem higher in prices.

OpticsPlanet.com | Hunting, Shooting & Tactical Gear currently have 10% discount for purchase over $100. Sometimes they have unannounced sales that pop ups as a chat. I got my Burris Veracity 4-20x50 fro $629.10 (#32 of http://www.longrangehunting.com/for...w-ballistic-e1-ffp-reticle-130833/index5.html) a few years ago that way along with another 10% discount.

Ok I think I've changet my mind.......again.
Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24x50mm Riflescope w/ VMR-1 MOA Reticle, Black VHS-4325. Or Mrad reticle. Looks to be about $639. And seems go be a great optic.

Sometimes "we" complicate things unnecessarily, believe me this is NOT going to be your last time going through a decision on what scope or rifle to buy/build ... if you have not figured out yet, LRH does that to you. :):Dgun)

Since you're getting into LRH, have you considered a range finder? See what I mean.

Cheers!

No I haven't thought about a range finder. But yes that will be a future buy
...lol. and yup I change my mind a lot and this forum only makes it harder. Lol. But hey its fun. Live the reading and learning.

I have 3 of those, but mine are Mil reticles, not MOA (personal preference). You will enjoy this scope.

I recommend the Seekins Precision rings over the cheaper Vortex Viper model rings.

I don't have a 700 LR, but I do have plenty of 700's with this setup on them... Here's what that same scope, rings, and base setup looks like on my custom 700 .300 Ackley with a heavy barrel, just to give you a reference.

I will look at them again......love the looks of the setup....and I should have some extra money to buy them vs what I listed.

Please buy a higher quality rail, EGW's are notoriously crappy! I have two rifles in right now that won't hold the EGW rails both 300 Win mags, customers are convinced the rails are good so I'm having to pin them in place and bed them to get them to stay. I could just bed a Nightforce or another quality rail and be done with it cheaper but that's the way it is!! If you have to have the EGW replace the screws immediately with quality ones and don't over torque, bed the rail and it may hold. I fix or replace a number of EGW's a year.
