Tikka rebarrel Cost

I look at Fclass like formula 1 and PRS like Baja trophy trucks. They run at the pinnacle of what is capable performance wise. Benchrest is like top fuel where in the delivery system is highly specialized and not remotely practical in a hunting situation. "Good enough" accuracy and "doesn't really matter" are bul****t terms that all of us as outdoorsmen need to get away from! Is 1moa acceptable for deer hunting out of a blind.... absolutely! But .7moa is better.

I'm not the best trigger puller alive so if taking a blank to a smith could possibly be the difference between 1moa and .75moa I'm going to hedge my bets with the most potentially accurate inanimate object possible.

There isn't much if any cost difference between a blank/smith combo vs prefit. Also if you have a prefit that isn't shooting right then you are sending emails and sending packages to get the issue resolved.

I'm not knocking prefits and if you are ok with "good enough" then full send! I will likely buy a PPB prefit for a howa mini I have one of these days.

Not planning on competing but I would be highly disappointed if it didn't shoot .5 or better with hand loads. I have 3 others that shoot .5 or better when I do my part.

Anyone know what barrel contour on Tikka CTR in 260 is. Was wondering what contour would work with the factory stock.

I have a Pac-Nor #5 contour barrel in a CTR stock and it fits well. It requires a tiny bit of inletting due to the longer contour section on the new barrel, but it was very minimal.

My 20 inch Tikka factory CTR 260 is .875 inch near end of barrel. Seems similar to Sendero contour?

Thinking of just sending it here...... I talked to them this afternoon. Super nice and answered all my questions. If I send my barreled action they will send it back to me for around 1100 with there carbon barrel....with a .5 guarantee. They said I would have to do a little sanding to make fit a Masa Stock.

Yeah I saw that a few threads back someone recommended them and longriflesinc. The guy I talked to at longrifle inc said they could do it and also recommended Oregon Mt

I attempted to attach a photo yesterday but had no luck. Here's my Pac Nor #5 in the CTR stock. Plenty of room for the barrel after it tapers.

Inletting is required by the arrow to fully free float the barrel.
