300 Win Mag. (Designed for future elk hunt, maybe the occasional whitetail in Virginia.)
Stock - McMillan Game Hunter LA
Action - Deviant Hunter
Barrel - Proof Carbon Sendero 26" 1:10 twist
Trigger - Jewel set around 2lbs
Bottom Metal - Bdl OEM
Scope - Leupold Vx-6 3-18x50
Scope mounts - leupold Mark 4 aluminum rings

Sounds real nice. Only thing I would do different is I would go with seekins rings.[Just personal preference]
One other thought is I have 2 Defiance actioned rifles and I much prefer my defiance with the 3 position safety in my opinion worth the extra money.

The action is a custom. The rest of it takes a back seat to that although the barrel may ride in the front seat, too...

Excellent choice of chambering. Load it with 215 Berger and you're golden. Don't worry about what others think of "your" build, it is "yours" to enjoy. Cheers!

I would try and make sure you have enough magazine length to load heavy bullets far enough out in the case. In my dads 300 win mag I have to stuff the big bullets deep to fit mag length. I wish I had a longer magazine to seat them farther out so I could take advantage of more case capacity.

I am becoming a believer in Seekins rings too.

Sounds pretty sweet, one question though, why 300 WM when you could go with a 300 PRC?
I've had both and believe me the advantages of the PRC are not just hype

What advantages do you see with the prc over the wm?

Other than the obvious belt that everyone is always worried about.

Aside from the belt (which I've had issues with in a number of chamberings), less body taper, 30 degree shoulder, and optimized for long heavy bullets.
Pretty real advantages
