I crossed paths with a fellow archery hunter maybe 5 years ago? Just having a quick conversation at a trail head I was asked out of the blue, "are you packin' heat?"
I am sure the look of confusion on my face was obvious. He then explained to me there are bears and mountain lions in this area and I should have a gun on me if I did not. I decided the conversation needed to be over and hit the trail.
