The New Hornady A-tip match bullet

I'm not sure who said they will act like FMJ, but from what I've seen, the tip is allot like their polymer tip in their ELDX and ELDM lines, just made out of aluminium and having sleeker profile... and these new A-TIP Match also have AMP jackets, so... I'm thinking not at ALL like a FMJ.

Don't get too caught up in what people are spouting off about right now. It's the internet, remember?
I know. Just seemed odd they would act like that. I've yet to see a tipped bullet not open up.
Was thinking the 250 would be fun in my 300RUM.

These look really cool. I was kind of hoping they would be a bit cheaper, but from the sounds of it, they're pretty serious. I'm curious how consistent and accurate they really are. I've always have had good luck with Hornady, but Sierra and Berger's are typically a little more consistent. I hope these live up to the claims.

I was the one that said I was told they would act like FMJ. I was told this by the Hornady Rep that got it directly from the engineers at Hornady. I'm not saying this is how they will act, just relaying what info I received from a creditable source. Honestly I really hope they act like an ELDX...

It would be pretty amazing to have a bullet that was even more consistent than the ELDs, Bergers, and Sierras, with the highest BCs of production bullets, and still perform on game. They're expensive, but they could potentially be worth it.

Hmmmm... just can't see that happening. More likely someone misunderstood, or something...

No worries. We will all know soon enough!

I'm kinda digging they have them packaged in the order they were made? That sounds pretty cool, and just might give them an edge over other manufacturers if the shooters don't sort their bullets?

What about the polishing bag? Are we going to have to clean them before loading?

According to their video they're straight off the press into the box. There will still be some lube from the shaping process on them.

Hornady has load data on thier site for these new bullets. The 153 A-tip at 3000+ out of a 6.5 PRC with Retumbo or RL26, guess I'll have to try them
