I must be female, when I see a diamondback I get light colored stripe down my back too.I'm not sure about diamond backs but I believe female timber rattlers down here have a light colored stripe running down the middle of their back.

I say: shoot, shovel, shut up!I like when people say "relocate them." This happens mostly with snowbirds who also like to leave food out for the coyotes and javelina. I myself suggest the five step process:
1.) Shoot the hell out of it.
2.) Chop its fricken head off.
3.) Chop it up into pieces.
4.) Burn the pieces.
5.) Bury the ashes.
I have eaten rattle snake many times it is very goodI hear they taste like chicken!
Do you have to know what sex it identifies as also? Here in PA you need a permit to kill 1 and you have to sex it and measure it before killing it. My WY guide thought I was pulling his leg.
I'll deer hunt in the cold but I won't turkey hunt in Pa where I got these pics. I see a turkey vulture carrying a small timber rattler a week ago. These pics are last year in McKeane county Pa.One more reason to love the north!
