The proof is in the pictures. No matter how you word it; you can't argue with that!!
Have you personally seen that issue? The biggest problem you will encounter sooner are later is a shot too the shoulder bone , causing the bullet too not penetrate , or a hard angling shot that will rip the jacket causing jacket and core separation , once again no penetration . The 143 gr eldx is designed for what you are doing with more of a safety margin built in for those tough shots . I don't understand why hunters are bent on using the 147 eldm when the 143 eldx wood be a better choice as a hunting bullet.
What rifle?
I have just as much fun watching him do the shooting as I do myself. I'm very fortunate to have a son that wants to share my passion with meWow thanks for all the great info, your a gentleman for sharing. Looks like they are working really well for you and your son. I love to see the young ones out in the field having the hunting heritage passed on. Keep up the good work. I have not used the eld-m's but have taken quite a few deer and antelope with the eld-x and none of them have moved more than 10'-15' from the impact point. Shots from 150 yards to 659 yards. For the naysayers, If you make a bad shot any and all bullet can and will fail.

The eld x out of a 6.5 Creedmoor will do just fine under 150 yards. We've killed several whitetail and mulies under 100 with the 143 eld x and none have gone anywhere and little meat damage. I wouldn't worry too much with sticking with just the 143 eld x in the Creed for all shots. My thoughts with the kids are to load a NP on top of the magazine just in case they are offered a 150 yard or less shot, and then have ELDX loaded under those. If the game is 150+ yards, we will have time to remove the NP cartridge and have the ELDX In the chamber. Maybe that's just over-thinking the situation. In AZ, many deer shots are 3-400+ yards. In Texas, most are under 150 yds.

You won't be disappointed with the eld-m.I like to tinker with handloads. I have had great luck hunting with the 143 ELD-X but my LGS got a big shipment of 140 ELD-Ms so thought I'd try them out.
