Talley Lightweights

The best answer to Talley questions is call them (803-854-5700) I've experienced quite knowledgeable help from them, getting exact part numbers and options. I've noticed several custom riflemakers use the Talley lightweights including Gunwerks.

I really like the IDEA of these super simple, rugged mounts. I was excited to try them on my new 280ai. However, in practice they put my scope in a bind even after a very generous lapping.

the reason I asked is I just found out that cheytac has ordered custom 40moa pic rails from talley so I was wondering if all their rails were alum or not

I have Talley light weights on several rigs at this point and for the money and use I consider them quite solid. Never had them put a mark on anything. I have lapped the last couple of sets and after reading Jim Sees article in the online magazine. I believe I will lap and bed the bottom ring as he suggests (Should I bed my rings and mounting system). Voids the warranty of course but sounds super solid to me.

Good luck and shoot straight all.

I've installed them on 4 or 5 rifles up to and including 2-300 win mags and I haven't had a problem yet. I also now lap them all and get a much better contact area. I'm a believer in them, love the simplicity, weight and cost!
