I am doing some penetration testing of a barrier-blind bullet for the 300 BLACKOUT and realized it would be fun to put a crossbow through some of the same tests. I use my TAC 15 to shoot a car door with a field tip and a Ramcat just to see what would happen.
The Ramcat showed its known weakness by shedding two of its blades. The weaker blades are the trade-offs made to get the good flight, though, especially from faster bows.
I also think a different arrow than the stock PSE arrows would've done better. The radial weave is just not designed to deal with hard impacts, and it shows in these tests.
