Is there anything different about a lazer guide made in 1998 to one made now? I'm mean are there multiple generations of them. If there are should I avoid one made in 1998?

jmason, From what I remember I asked this question to Swaro when sending mine in for repair to make sure I had th most current modle. My first guess going off memory would be to tell you no they are the same. But if I were you I would call and get the answers from Swaro. Here is the number to the warranty and repair dept. 800 426 3089 They are very helpful and will be glad to talk to you.

Thanks Jeff! I called and they said there have been no changes, but on a used one if it were still in the warranty period that it does not transfer to the new owner.

Cool, I think that explains some of the disply complaints I have with them. We are using 11 year old technology.
