Suggestions for lightweight 6.5 hunting rifle

Agreed! This is why it is best to start a new thread instead of reviving a 12-year-old thread.

I found this thread to be very useful That's why I didn't start my own thread good old info is still good info according to your logic any 6.5 that isn't the newest should be forgotten and that seems like such a shame

That is not what I am saying at all; your query is inter-mixed and buried. Your query is ...
6.5 Sherman sounds awesome does anyone still use it? And it feeds ok I'd love to see a photo of the round I may need to get one of these…..
If you posted as a separate query, you get specific responses. You can also go directly to their website at https://shermanwildcatcartridges.com/ or do a search; there are at least 10 pages on my quick query.

As far as your comment, according to your logic, "any 6.5 that isn't the newest should be forgotten, and that seems like such a shame," your assumption is deeply flawed. I still own a nostalgic Carl Gustaf 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser (designed in 1891 and produced in 1894), older than our venerable .30-06 (produced in 1906). I also have a semi-custom .264 WM (designed in 1959) to complement my 6.5 CM (designed in 2007).

Wonderful I'm glad you have several 6.5's and like them as do I and I'm glad your contributing to this thread I hope it continues for a long time

depends on your ocd ;) ! a "do it yourself" build, custom or factory.....................................factory is the easy and faster version button, custom (all by the same company/person) will get on the expensive side if money isn't an object or a "do it yourself" (is what i started doing) only because i don't care for factory offerings as there's something about the build i'll replace (usually the stock, trigger and/or barrel). takes a lot less tools to build a ba type than an ar. do you handload or buy factory ammo? going full custom some will build a complete (includes optic and ammo) for exactly what you want/need. that could be the money saver and time saver there if you have 6 months to a year for waiting?
