i got my Christmas present today and went up online with Swaorvski to register it. When it came time to enter my address the drop down for "state" did not have DC listed. So I relocated the U.S. capitol to Maryland from whence it orignally came and then I sent this email to Swarovski.
I have some patience and understanding that perhaps in Austria, not every one has a detailed understanding of basic U.S. Geography perhaps much like people here have little knowledge of Austrian geography.
Here is a little known fact. There is a place in the United States called Washington, D.C. Now Washington is a city and it is located in the District of Columbia. People actually live here in the midst of the stupidity center of the world and perhaps the universe. If Austria wishes to enter the stupidity contest then by all means be my guest.
Now then, when I buy a piece of optical equipment costing over $1,000 and try to register it online and find that while you do manage to list all of the states you do not list the District of Columbia as a place to live and it is impossible to fill in my address correctly. Perhaps you believe that those of us who reside in Washington DC are too stupid to know how to operate a computer and go online and register our product. If we were that stupid we would have bought a Tasco at K-mart for $19.99.
I would suggest you are not quite as stupid as Black and Decker who are an American company whose online registration made the same mistake. Perhaps they fired their computer programmer and you hired him? if you wish to win the stupidity contest you will have to out do the CIA and the NSC who believe that the penguins at the North Pole have a nuclear capability and are building intercontinental ballistic missiles to attack W because of his global warming policies
