The Element Optics Titan fits the bill and punches way above its weight class. They have a 3-18x version which I have a couple of and a 5-25x and are both on sale at Camera Land right now. Great glass, good reticle, excellent build quality, and fantastic turrets even better than $1200-$1400 scopes I have owned. In the past I have purchased other scopes on this list like fixed power SWFAs and and the Meopta Optika6 3-18x and would take the Element over either. Not saying those are bad options, but I do believe the Element to be better.

For what it's worth, the HD swfas are a whole different animal than the fixed power. I have had 1-4, 6x, 10x and 12x swfas in the past. Turrets we're great across the board, but the 5-20 HD glass is entirely different.

Welcome to the forum. I personally don't like tree style reticles, but to each their own. Rifle scope preferences are very individual in nature. I also do not want to support China when buying something as critical as a rifle scope. Good luck with your selection.

If you can hold out until Black Friday we're almost there. SWFA usually has good sales.

EuroOptic had some awesome deals on Trijicon scopes, but it has been several months at this point.

Take a hard look at the Athlon ares btr gen 2 4.5-27x50. Great glass, nice turrets and good tracking with a nice reticle that's a tree style but not to busy at all, I think it comes in under 30 ounces too. Athlon seems to have the illumination figured out as well, I've seen some popular sub 1k scopes with really bad illumination.
