MODIFIED BROWNING 1885 SINGLE SHOT. SERIAL NUMBER SHOWS IT AS A FIRST YEAR (1985) PRODUCTION MODEL. THESE WERE MADE IN JAPAN BY MIROKU. ORIGINALLY A .270 WIN, RECHAMBERED TO .270 WBY. ORIGINAL 28", 1:10 TWIST OCTAGON BARREL MEASURES .625 AT THE MUZZLE. BARRELED ACTION AND LEVER ARE CERAKOTED MIDNIGHT BLACK. PURCHASED USED, TOTAL ROUND COUNT UNKOWN BUT I HAVE FIRED APPROXIMATELY 100 THRU IT. THE BEST I CAN DO WITH IT HAS BEEN .75 MOA. THE FORE STOCK HAS BEEN MODIFIED FROM THE ORIGINAL SCHNABEL SHAPE TO REPLICATE A SHARPS WITH THE PEWTER TIP. THIS ONE WAS EPOXY SET FOR A SOLID FIT. THE ORIGINALS WERE CAST IN PLACE. BROWNING'S HORRIBLE ORIGINAL SLING SWIVELS WERE REPLACED WITH FLUSH CUPS AND THE ORIGINAL BUTT PAD REPLACED WITH A PACHMAYR'S. THE STOCK IS NICELY COLORED STRAIGHT GRAIN WALNUT AND HAS BEEN REFINISHED TO A HIGH GLOSS CONDITION BUT COULD BE TONED DOWN A BIT WITH A BUFFING. ORIGINAL SCOPE BASES ARE INCLUDED BUT NOT THE RINGS OR SCOPE.
