Less than $300.00 a Vortex 6x18x44 with V-brite reticle and Ao.
I needed an illuminated reticle due to GH's hugging the shaded tree lines and my Weaver grand slam EBX varmint reticle was getting lost in the shaded areas, with its' black only dot.
Great scope served me well, but i'm really liking this Vortex,11 intensity illumination settings, as well as a black only, sight in at 100 yards was done with 6 shots , tracking was perfect.Seems like a good match for the 17 WSM, when I get the 17 hornet I'll spend big money for it's scope. I dislike the fact that it's made in China, however Vortex has a lifetime warranty. It showed exquisite detain in dark shaded areas. We'll see.
On the money at 100 yards smacked this golf ball, smudge mark in entrance, exit is right above ,I was holding dead center.Second photo entrance 12 o'clock exit. Not many varmints will escape, the lighted dot is fantastic, won't get to hunt till Monday, work gets in the way.

Congratulations on your new scope. Certainly I understand a less than expensive scope. In fact it used to be the best scope value in the world was a Tasco. Now that I'm remembering, two of my rifles still have Tascos on them.

I am not opposed to buying Vortex scopes that aren't Chinese. I believe the Viper and upper end scopes are not Chinese.
Some of the new ones like the Strike Eagle are Chinese.
Just a personal view, not putting anyone down that buys one.
