Sling Bolt Head Touch Barrel

The sling bolt head is touching the barrel. Any suggestions on a remedy? I am thinking to take it off and sand the head down.

The other option might be to run a nylon washer between the swivel and the stock and that should gain you some clearance on the inside.

Stick the tip of it on a grinder for two seconds. That is what I have always done.

I was going to say to use a Dremel tool with a very fine grinding drum to take it below the wood. On the other hand the barrel has obviously not been floated. Try glass bedding and floating the barrel. That should cure your contact problem and increase the rifles accuracy too.

Yes during bedding I use electrical tape around the barrel to center in the stock and set the gap I want between the stock

Just wondering how it shoots the way it is? My Weatherby has an upward pressure point and it shoots pretty good. It looks like your rifle has been used, so I was just wondering if it shoots good, or are you having accuracy problems and found this in your search.

I have only shot it about 15 times because it rattles my fillings. It was given to me. I got it to 2.5 inch groups, got a deer at 358 yards 2 years ago and stuck with my 270 since.
