sidecarflip im 78 yrs old and i agree with most of what youve said.
lots of elections have been close in our lifetimes. but there were always
winners werent there. this guy won and he won because more people cared he did than those of us who cared that he didnt. its that simple.
no doubt lots of gun owners voted for him. some are probably members here.
we all know the statistics on gun owners and nra membership.
thats a dead horse issue that wont change much. as for someone saying we
need to gear up for next time, what about last time? the most important election in our lifetime and we lost it. now its going to be next time?
is there any chance he could have about 12 million more voters by next time?
is there any chance he could own the supreme court by next time?
can we count on guys like boehner and mcconnel next time?
this guy is in the cat bird seat and he knows it and we put him there.
there aint gonna be a next time.
You got me by a few years, I'm 63. Len is older than me by a year, Roy is a bit older too. That makes me the young'in, I guess.
I'm not sure if there will be a next time or not. It will all depend on the awareness level of the citizens and just how much they are willing to passively accept.
Which brings me to a point and that is. the media has perpetrated Obama to be a messiah of sorts, sort of a reincarnated Jesus Christ and the soother and healer of all ills. Problem is, he isn't. He is not even a good statesman, what he is, is a purveyor of promises he can't keep.
I'll bare my *** to the world and admit here, on a public forum, in front of all, that I voted for Obama over McCain and Palin. Obama promised me hope and change and I bought into the chirade. I didn't like McCain because I was sick of war, not that war isn't necessary for a robust economy as we've seen in the past, a war economy galvanizes the citizens, creates jobs and increases wealth among the citizens, but I was tired of the non war conflict scenario, remember, I'm a product of the Vietnamn era. I'll never forget 'Nam and I'll never forget the way the American public treated Vitenamn vets. That was a shameful thing. I didn't care for Palin either. Granted, she had nice legs but I saw nothing from the neck up. 2 non-leaders are as bad as one leader and Obama wooed me with his rhetoric and his JFK style. I got to see 4 years of a non functioning president who was on endless vacations and got increasing belligerent with the very people who voted him in office. The stigma with Obama is anything said in a negative tone is instantly construed as racial, however, Obama can sling tons of **** without any retribution.
Then along came Romney, who's from Michigan, where I live btw. Ronney rose above the other candidates by sheer financial strength alone. I much preferred the early black candidate, the one that was conveniently smeared by the media as an adulterer, not that Clinto or Kennedy wasn't. I foubd it inyertesting that he got smeared and as soon as he dropped out, everything ended plus all the women he supposedly wanked were from Chicago, Obama's home turf. How convenient. Anyway, I wasn't all the fond of Romney, he is big money, a prerequsite for being a Beltway Bozo anyway. I liked his running mate, it should have been the other way around but I voted Romney anyway. I'm a Ron Paul guy at heart but why toss a vote so Romney got mine.
What put Obama in was the entitlement people plus the moderates that jumped ship plus all the negative, except for Obama media ********, the best reason for discounting anything from any media outlet that comes across the 11PM news.
Which brings all of us th the present. As I said before, this issue, above all previous issues crosses all lines. This has never occured in Obama's ternure and one reason Obama is singling out the NRA as a political target. His handlers full well know this isuue could very well be the end of the Chancellors reign. When you take just the 4 million NRA members (as of January 20th), plus all those citizens that don't belong but own firearms and those than aren't at all vocal, like my neighbors and yours, you then have a very large slice of America and they are all ****ed and they are all watching and they are all becoming aware that something 'stinks in Denmark' and stinks like ****... and they know who's stinking. It's Obama and his disciples.
Something is going to give this time. Obama's free ride is over and it's time to pay the piper. He knows it too.
If you watch carefully, you'll note he's on the defensive constantly, like a kid that got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and don't want to get slapped. Good example is surrounding himself with the Sandy Hook kids. How crass? No. How cunning.
He's not stupid but he knows he's bitten off a lot bigger bite than he can chew.
Like I've said all along, diplomacy and perserverance should triumph and if it don't, then, it becomes a personal decision, an individual decision.
I imagine you feel like I do. I know what I stand for and where I stand. That comes with age.
Again' please excuse the language and the spelling. My mind goes faster than my fingers. It used to be faster, but age is slowing it down some....
