Selling rifle and using PayPal G&S

I have used it a lot. Just put vague notes if you need anything. I have had 0 issues. But I have never had any seller issues that I needed to dispute either.

It's funny that many major online stores accept PayPal & sell firearm related items. I was also victim of being banned from PayPal for life. My Dad sent me cash F&F for a scope & added "scope" in the notes. Figured that's what did it. & No you can't speak to anyone, they aren't concerned with losing a few clients only sending a few grand a month.

Luckily didn't have any money tied up in my account.

I guess this is my main concern is what if he disputed it.

If you are the seller and the buyer uses goods and services. Even if there are no comments, they will just collect their fee up front and then freeze your funds when they find out it was a gun

let's play it out

buyer files a dispute that he got something bad or it didn't arrive. They'll ask what was sold and when you say it was a gun, then its game over. They freeze your account and you lose the money anyway.

One potential loop hole in that whole PayPal process is to pay with a credit card through PayPal, don't use your PayPal balance. Don't put any "gun related" words in the notes. If any issues arise, contact your credit card to fight PayPal and the seller/shipper. The CC company doesn't care what you bought and PayPal won't question them about exactly what you bought.

This. I have bought several off here and left the comments generic and never had an issue. Be smarter than them.

Just a quick question about people using g&s through PayPal to sell a firearm and having it shipped from ffl to ffl. Any concerns with this?
Yes. Guns are prohibited items and they wont refund your money if you get scammed. Better off to save yourself the fees, because they wont protect you.

I did it. A lot actually. The somehow found out I was using it for my Gunbroker account and locked me out with about $2k left in it. It took a little but I did get my money. Highly recommend you do not support them or Venmo who is a parent company of PayPal.

I've bought using PP friends and family. But I'm not buying nor selling without actually having phone call conversation on details before any money is exchanged. There's risk with everything. If you can wait…just get a usps check through the mail. But there's got to be trust on both sides. Fortunately I've not had a bad deal yet.

I pay for goods and receive funds throgh PayPal but NEVER say anything that is in any manner "firearm" related. No description of anything gun, shooting, reloading or hunting related. DD62
I bought tons of gun related items off of Flea Bay using Pay Pal with no issues. I only use it for buying and have a separate checking acct. for its use.. I deposit enough money in the acct . to pay for what item I want. I even used The PayPal protection when a rifle stock arrived damaged.
