A few friends and I are looking to go pheasant hunting in SD this year. We're all novices. Two of us are fairly avid dove hunters and have hunted farm pheasants here in Ohio. The other two don't have any upland experience, but will probably have a couple dove hunts under their belt by the time we go. We're planning on 3 days. I've found quite a few all inclusive packages that include guided hunts, lodging, and food, but we'd rather handle the food and lodging ourselves. I'd appreciate any recommendations for guides that offer hunts outside of complete packages.
