Beware , there is a scammer watching the classifieds closely . I sold a knife on this forum yesterday and the buyer was passing his info out in the open on the listing instead of using pm's . The scammer sent him a text as we were going back and forth and requested zelle payment and posed as me . Luckily the buyer called me to verify and we figured out what was going on . So just another reminder to everyone , only pass your info thru pm's and be aware that scammers are watching these classified listings real time and watching deals unfold , just waiting to pounce on any opportunity to take your money .

You beat me to it!

Glad you "cheated" the scammer. Always feels good when you can beat them at their tricks. Don't know how they sleep at night. Seared conscience I guess. Will always be people like that and always has been, but the digital age gives them more tools and opportunities, and proliferates their dirty business.

Yeah it was a very good lesson learned for me. I was the dumb *** that put my phone number on the post. Everyone I have had any dealings with on this site has been an outstanding individual to deal with. I got complacent and posted my number and it almost cost me. Sad that you have to worry about these kinds of things but it is the world we live in.

I hope you guys reported the incident to Len and maybe his phone number is public record (although it is easy to disguise your number). I know these low life's can create another account if they are indeed a member. They may still be able to see the classifieds without logging in.

Len,
I was dumb enough to put my phone number on a post to buy something. I was contacted via text message with a Zelle account to send the money to. The guys used the sellers LRH handle of Kooz7 so it looked legit. He gave me a name of Lovie Kilgore, 1-812-674-0293, Zelle info of [email protected]. It just looked funny to me so I hesitated, luckily, and then I received a text from the real seller (Kooz7) with his actual name, address and contact phone number. I called him right away and told him what was going on and the conversation we had after lead me to believe he was the actual seller and the other guy was a scammer so we finished the transaction. That is all the info I have, not sure if there is anyway for you to figure out who it was. I assume a person must have an account to even look at our classifieds, correct?
Thanks for your time and I love Long Range Hunting.

You'd think with the payment methods that you should have a case against the scammers somehow,I guess as long as you don't use friends and family you do have control 🫤
