I had a hard time when taking the barrel of my LRH the other day. It was really stuck. When the nut finally started to spin off I had to work it forward and back and keep cleaning threads to get it to go. It had some kind of greyish looking locktite that appeared to have the worlds smallest bearings in it. I would of taken a pic but I didn't think they'd show up. What is that stuff?

Those tiny ball bearings are actually glass beads. Savage tumbles their rifles in a drum full of glass beads to produce the matte finish. During the tumbling process the glass beads work their way under the barrel nut. I discovered the same thing when I re barreled a LRH last year.
