So I have read through my daughters "owners manual" for her newer 700 BDL. This one has the screw that is in the trigger itself.
This thing was set on 7 lbs factory. I can adjust the screw in the trigger and it goes down to 5 lbs. Take the screw completely out
5 lbs. I have tried watching youtube videos and that gets frustrating.
1) Do both pins drive the same direction to remove the trigger? I have seen several that drive both of the same direction which is what I did.
Other videos say drive the front pin L to R and the back R to L or vice versa even. Pretty sure I replaced them exactly as they came out.
2) After researching to see if I can adjust the trigger on down to 3 lbs I am left shaking my head. Some say the front screw sets spring tension. Others say that the back screw adjusts spring tension.
3) Have most people really threw their Remington triggers away and replaced them with after market?
I will probably just leave it set at the five pounds it is on and see if it helped tighten groups up any, Frustrating!!! My buddy said he takes all the screws through the trigger plum out and throws them away? Does it need to still be in there? If it was my rifle I wouldn't be as concerned, but since this is my daughters rifle.....

Order a rifle basics trigger for it. Clay is a great guy to deal with and they make great hunting triggers. DO NOT REMOVE AND THROW AWAY THE SCREWS. They need to be in place for the trigger to work right. Which trigger is in it, the old Walker or the newer mark and then which version of the mark. The Mark's triggers are hard to adjust to a low pull, easier to just replace them. The walkers can be adjusted to a very nice result if u know what u are doing.

From what little I know from the last 40 years of Rem 700's. I think the old school like 1980's and 70's and maybe 90's? Had the Walker trigger. I have 7 mag that is an early 80's. (Walker trigger)
This one I think is a newer maybe even x mark II??? It has a screw in the trigger itself. Like where your trigger finger goes. That is the "screw" (singular) that my buddy said to throw away. ( not the ones glued in with epoxy)

Do you know for sure which way the two pins drive in that hold the trigger assembly itself?
I swear midway USA and brownell's and several others I have seen have conflicting both L to R , or front L to R and rear R to L directions for driving out pins.
Being a centre screw I would just straight out replace it. They are crappy triggers. The triggertech is a great option as is the Rifle Basix. As far as driving the pins it should be pretty easy to tell if there is a taper by pushing them by hand. Out of habit on domestic guns, out I push a pin left to right and in right to left. It doesn't take long to feel if you have pins that don't conform to the usual American standard. Most pins and the holes they go in it actually doesn't make any difference. Dovetails are a different story. They are tapered virtually all the time.

69, perhaps check contact with stock or bottom metal with aftermarket triggers. Some can occasionally bind due to slight size differences. I've had a few new triggers require a bit of inletting. Good luck
@bluedog69 either trigger is going to be great & a big improvement over what's in the gun now. I am with you - tinkering with the factory trigger would leave me uneasy. Just buy a good quality trigger & be done with it & have peace of mind.

I am just hoping it doesn't require any inletting. If it does oh well. I just hope if I have to file on the trigger plate(stainless steel BDL) I can do it clean enough my daughter doesn't notice. This one is very picky! LOL

Triggertech are really good triggers. You guys will be very happy with them on any Rem 700 or Rem Clone action you put them on. After sales service on them is great as well.
