Just a quick update. The rifle barreled action is completed to match my 308. The gunsmith machined the action to match perfectly to my factory top release 308 build. He installed the new trigger and sear as stated above but has not polished and worked on the trigger pull yet. From what I read and saw from others, I should have just bought an aftermarket trigger assembly. Going to take some work to get the trigger down to an acceptable level. I have the shims also but even my gunsmith is a little concerned about the work needed to get to 8 ounces.
That being said, the barrel diamond flute and all coatings are identical between the two rifles. They are bedding the action and doing some load development for me since I am traveling for work. I will post some pictures when it's completed. The trigger is going to be a pain to get where it should be.
