RL26 vs H4831 for 280ai

I shoot 143 HH pushed by RL26 as my main hunting load. I live in the SE USA so I don't have temp issues. Back up load is 150 Barnes TTSX pushed by H4831sc. Years before 160AB's with RL23,26, and 22. When I was in a rush I could always reach for IMR 4350 giving up 250fps but always had accuracy.

Just an FYI Boys. Today the Cabela's in Hamburg Pa had an entire shelf of assorted powders. Including H4350 in 8-pound containers. Also ,1 pound bottles of H 1000. No Primers and only Hornady bullets .

Me too! One Rifle in 270 Win , really likes 59.5 grns of H 4831 from a 24-inch BBL, with the 130 Grn. Ballistic Tips. I went to H 4831SC when it was just more readily available. Not seen any significant difference at 100 yards. My Buddies Model 70 Featherweight ,22 inch BBL, shoots IMR 4350 very well, with the same 130 Grn Bullet. Both loads are about 3000 /3050fps and are just fine for Whitetail's at the distance we shoot. Mostly 100 yards and 200 yards is Max on his farm. Very happy with the performance of this load!!

I've had great luck with 139 LRX and 168 VLD-H with 4831sc in my 280ai. I've tried RL23 with both fed210 and CCI250 primers with the 168 VLDs. It gave great speed but I couldn't get the accuracy everyone else seems to get.

What is your recipe with the 280 Ackley with 4831sc??
62 gn with the 139 LRX .05 off the lands works great in my rifle.
I'm currently running 59.7 gn the 168 VLD at .015 off lands. This load shoots good groups but ES is a little higher than I like so I may keep experimenting.
