RL-16 recipes

I use lapua brass and fed match primer and h4350 and 147eldm. Shot under 4 inches 10 shot group at 1000 yards. It was the 3rd smallest group shot at Williamsport last yr. I wanted rl16 to shoot but couldn't get the consistency of h4350. Rl26 gave 100 fps more speed but was finicky. Rl23 shot real good. I run the 147s at 2850 with no pressure at all. That were my accuracy is the best. For hunting I would have no problem using rl26 and a 143eldx at 3000 fps. Rl26 really wakes up a lot of rounds. Shep

Update: rifle seems to like 41.7gr of RL-16 pretty good! Didn't get to max charge yet but think I will shoot this combo for at least this season.

Love me some Reloder 16! All loads below are sub-half MOA out to 500 yards (furthest tested on most of these) and max loads before accuracy falls off in my particular rifles. All are Fed 210M primers but for the Win Mag and 175 VLD load that use Winchester Magnum primers. Most brass is Peterson or Norma.

6.5 Creed w/120 Etip - 43.2 grains RL16

6.5 Creed w/129 Interlock and 140 SST - 43 grains RL16

6.5 Creed w/143 ELDX, 142 ABLR, and 140 AB - 42.8 grains RL16

6.5 Creed w/140 Hot Cor - 42.4 grains RL16

30-06 w/150 SST - 59.5 grains RL16

30-06 w/175 VLD - 54.7 grains RL16

30-06 w/180 AB and 180 TBT - 54.5 grains RL16

338 Win Mag w/250 AB - 65.4 grains RL16

338 Win w/225 TTSX and 230 ELDX - 70.8 grains RL16

Still to test: 7mm-08 with something in the 140 bullet range (have had great success w/RL15) and 7mm WSM in 160-168 range

Love RL-16...hate the carbon buildup with it but dang it shoots so fine. Expect low SE and SD with it. Here is Alliant load data that I used with 165 Sierra GC, Nosler 168 LRAB, Nosler 180 AB and all shot very well with it.
