Retumbo replacement ?

I shoot several cartridges that have performed very well (speed & accuracy) with RE26. I normally work up loads during the spring and summer. Every round is fired over an Oehler 35P.

While the hottest day that I test fired loads was about 90 deg under the overhang, I never noticed a velocity or pressure spike to have happened. Some who post here have reported these spikes with RE26 in +90 deg weather but I haven't seen it yet.

I'm not too concerned about the reports because I always hunt in cooler weather. Thus, eliminating the potential to experience a problem while hunting. Only fat PA groundhogs can compel me to walk around on a blazing hot day in pursuit of critters. H4350 can handle that chore.

I find that temp stability ramps more above 80 or 90 degrees. I do all my varmint loads at 90+ degrees as I've blow primers developing lower and then going out when its 100. I map the sensitivity for every powder as they all seem to be different than what I read on in the interweb. I've read on this forum that Retumbo can even have a negative curve and have an increase in speed at ver low temps. I might save a few of the last Retumbo rounds I have to test this. But it may not be worth if I can't find any in the future.

Wedgy, just called the store, tried online order. Apparently they don't have Retumbo, don't ship, owners son is running the website and it's all wrong....and needs to be taken down.
good spot, but won't play out. Guy said "nobody's got Retumbo"

That's usually the case when I find it in stock online. Usually get the, " it sold out in 3 seconds" response.

RL33 gives more velocity than Retumbo in some cases but I have found that it is very dirty and builds pressure quickly at around ~84F (similar to RL 26) so it isn't a great powder for me in the summer.
