Wasn't sure where to post this. Part of the reason I got the hell out of CA!

According to a report from RedState, based on a personal interview with a California gun retailer, leftists visiting gun shops are shocked and dismayed to learn that there are strict gun control laws on the books, and that their vision of an American where guns are readily available and subject to few regulations isn't reality — now that they are interested in purchasing firearms amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"They're shocked to discover they can't just walk out of the store with a gun," the retailer told reporter Kira Davis.

Gun control activists are adamant that the United States has overly lenient gun laws, and many armchair Constitutional experts routinely insist that guns are not subject to waiting periods, identification and background checks, or purchasing limits. In fact, gun control activists are apt to compare guns and abortion, suggesting that the practice of abortion is far and away more heavily regulated than gun purchases.

It turns out, they're rather shocked to discover guns are, in fact, subject to heavy regulation.

"More than a dozen of these buyers (men and women) actually thought that since they filled out and signed everything, they could just walk out and go home with the firearm. Several actually said they saw how easy it was to buy a gun on TV and why did they have to fill out all these forms," one gun retailer told RedState. "Most were VERY vocal about why it takes 10 days minimum (sometimes longer if the DOJ is backed up) to take their property home with them. They ask why do I need to wait 10 days if I need the protection today or tomorrow?"

Things get very heated, the retailer added, when they note that two forms of identification are needed to purchase a firearm in California, and that the state practices strict background checks, demands lengthy waiting periods, and limits the number of guns one individual can purchase per month.

"They really went crazy when we told them that for each firearm they had to do the same amount of paperwork and they could only purchase ONE handgun every 30 days," he added.

Some customers were so incensed, the gun retailer claims, that they left the gun range one-star, sometimes profane reviews on Yelp.

The retailer, taking things in stride, has told more than a few customers to reconsider their position on gun control laws, he says: "We pointed out that since no one working here voted for these laws, then maybe they might know someone who did. And, maybe they should go back and talk to those people and tell them to re-think their position on firearms – we were trying to be nice."

The pandemic has pushed gun sales to "record highs," according to NBC News, and many of those sales are going to first time gun buyers.

"The FBI conducted 3.7 million background checks last month, according to its latest figures, the highest total since the national instant check system for buyers was launched in 1998 and 1.1 million higher than the number conducted in March 2019," the outlet reported.

That article was a wonderful way to start my day! It's so nice to hear reports of Leftists being provoked to anger by the consequences of their own mid-guided policies.

Now, these people know what it's like to be denied a basic right. Unfortunately, they've been so brainwashed by a controlled press and corporate media for so long, I'm not sure if they will learn anything. Well, there's always 911.

first they demanded the laws to be implemented, now they're whining about them being implemented. what idiots. glad i live in a free state where all i do is fill out a 4473, show them my CC permit and walk out with a gun 10 minutes later. no background check, no wait time. it does have a negative effect on my bank account though.

"Roving gangs of seniors, many with walkers, some with oxygen tanks attached, all armed with canes, descended on Los Angeles suburbs, COVID carriers all"...sheesh

Let's take this a step further. Let's say one of these Rachel Maddow-watchin', Prius-drivin', duck-scrubbers actually uses deadly force with a firearm in a home invasion scenario?

In many states, they'll be shocked to learn that the control freaks they've elected to their state legislatures have stacked the deck against them (again). If they can't prove they made every attempt to retreat (sometimes in their own homes) feared for their lives, and waited to discharge the gun until they were cowering in an upstairs closet, they might be charged with Murder. In one case I read about (forgot the state) a gentleman was facing 6 to 20 years just for brandishing when someone broke into his home in broad daylight.

In the late 70's there was a case in Orange Co. CA about a man breaking into a home at night.

He tried to enter through a bedroom window where a man and his wife were sleeping.

According to the story I heard from an officer, the home owner woke as the man was part way thru the window.

The home owner shot him and as he fell backwards, broke his leg when it got tangled up in the gas meter.

Because he landed outside, the man was charged with shooting him and was later sued by the burgler for his medical expenses for the broken leg and gunshot wound. AND WON!

NRA-ILA Liberal Gun Buying Experience

Nothing will come out of this since the true socialist doesn't want anybody to have a firearm. Once that happens, goodbye Constitution as being an archaic document and no longer fitting for their political viewpoint. Understand the 2nd amendment is the "squirrel hunting" amendment by them and media and has nothing to do with civil liberties and the power of government kept in check by the Constitution. I have asked several liberal friends how do they rationalize the second most important amendment in our constitution right after free speech is only for squirrel hunting? How do they rationalize squirrel hunting is viewed more important than trial by jury of your peers, unreasonable search and seizure, warranted search, due process, right to speedy trial as part of the Bill of Rights. All I hear back from them is crickets.

They don't care until the law effects them and then when it does its not their fault even though they voted for the people that made the laws. They made their bed now they can lie in it! It once was a great state however they want the government to do everything for them and then complain that its not enough.

some people they get what they ask for then bitch about it they would complain if you hung them with a new rope, now theres an idea

Why bring a good rope into the equation....
send them all out the the Catalina Island...say it's a grand ceremony for fellow californians(to include Pelosi and the gang)..give them water and food....sink their boats.....if they try to swim back the protected great whites should be more than happy to thin them out.....and the other sharks too......

YZ-80. I agree with all of your post except one part. Let's refer to "it" as "Richard Maddow"
