Remington 700 tatical light weight stock

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right spot or not if so please move..I'm looking for recommendations for a lighter weight stock for my remington 700 sps tactical.i have a bell and carlson m40 style stock on it and the LOP is to long and it is on the heavier side the rifle weights right at 15 lbs and I would like to get a better stock for it and one that would hopefully be lighter weight so I will be able to carry it around alittle easier.thanks in advance
 
Lots of really good options out there, but it really depends on preference and budget. Mcmillan, Manners, AG Composites if you want to pick all the options (LOP, colors, fills.... you name it). Grayboe has a few lighter weight options for a few less bucks depending on what style stock you want. Luckily, you're looking for a stock for about the most common rifle available! Don't forget to check the classifieds. Lots of gems to be had if you're willing to wait.
 
How light are you wanting to go, and is that 15lbs including your scope? I have a 700 Tac as well with a 20" barrel- they are heavy but even with a Vortex Razor HD and a Magpul Hunter stock it doesn't hit 15 pounds. That stock is about 3.5 pounds, btw. I'm guessing your M40 is around 3.5-4 pounds, without bottom metal?

Going to a carbon fiber stock will save weight- you can get a Manners, etc that will come in around 24-27oz easy, but you may need to trim weight elsewhere as well if you're wanting to get that system under a specific weight.

Yes the near 15 pounds is every but ammo.and yea the stock by it self before bedding it weigh 4 pounds then bedding compound adds some weight as well.as of right now I'm looking to change scope and stock.i know the scope I have on it is on the heavy side as well

I'm looking for either a sendero or 5r style stock or a game hunter or game Warren style.theres couple other style I've been looking at as well.i would like one with adjustable cheak riser but I can always add one of the mathews fabrication style ones
 
I have a Grayboe Phoenix that's pretty sweet. Lightweight for all the adjustments and modularity it offers. I also have a Grayboe Terrain LA that's 32 oz that's more like an m40 style stock with a higher comb. I like it ok. The Mcmillan stocks I have are more stiff and a bit lighter, but the cost and wait times are a serious consideration. I prefer a more vertical grip for "fun guns" and long range hunters but, also like a nice sporter grip like a Sako Hunter. I feel like trigger reach is harder to get right on a sporter stock that will be shot a lot.
 
My PSS with a scope is 12.2 lbs. That's a 24" barrel, steel NF 20 MOA rail, SWFA 10X in aluminum rings, and a MRT leather sling.

Update: I forgot the Harris 6-9" swivel bipod.

I've been looking at the bell and carlson long range hunter stock and the sendero stock.there lightest seems to be the heavy barrel bdl sporter stock

I would be happy with 10 or 12 pounds loaded. Also were did you get the leather sling I've been looking for one
