Remington 700 Bolt Stuck After Firing

The problem you encountered is not surprising given the source of the data. In Hornady's 8th edition they mention using actual rifles to test. They also state that they look for pressure signs but not pressure data. Page 78 in the 8th edition. In this case they used two different rifles and these are probably not SAMMI test chambers or instrumented chambers. It also appears that you are quoting book velocities not actual.

This is why you start low and work up.

If the bolt lift is easy but it won't pull back, it's primary extraction like I have said before. The dead giveaway is it doesn't do it with factory ammo or lower pressure reloads. This is the text book definition of Remington primary extraction issues.

This is exactly the problem. The bolt lifts fine but bolt is stuck. Only fix is to shoot lighter loads.
