I have a Jard trigger on my Rem 700. The safety on the trigger has almost no tention, so it's easily pushed to fire position. Is there a simple fix for this? Want to add tension so it's not bumped off safety.
Just me, I would 'fix' it with a Timney trigger. If you like Jard (I have no experience with them), call them and try to get a replacement. I wouldn't want to have any safety mechanism issues.
Maybe someone with JARD trigger experience will pop up with a 'quick fix' for you, but if not, I like @LaHunter 's suggestion to contact JARD and see what they can do for you. Maybe they'll send you a spring or something. Or perhaps they'll send you a replacement trigger mechanism. I have to believe they would offer some fix or take some action to get things right.
You are smart to be concerned and wanting to do something about it. Can't be having the gun go on and off safe 'randomly' due to a lack of tension in the mechanism.
Thanks guys. I will just contact them about it. Really like the trigger but can't hunt with it the way it is. I have another Remington I'm gonna put a Remington on soon.
