Reloading tss T and #4 buck loads

Here's my 2 cents.... Be CAREFULL!!! Tungsten (TSS) shot is much harder than the steel that your gun barrel & choke is made out of.
"Don't Over CHOKE" the tungsten (TSS) shot. Lead shot deforms when shot for a shotgun and Tungsten shot doesn't deform.
A good source of reloading information is Ballistic Products.

Another good source is Indian Creek Shooting Systems, I have emailed them on what choke diameter that they would recommend for #5 TSS shot and they were very helpful.

Good info! But what are you hunting with #5? #9 seems quite overkill for turkeys.

My order of #4 buck and T size TSS should be here Thursday. Hopefully I can roll a few up Thursday night and pattern Friday. Sunday is the last day of deer season and we're going to try and fill the last of the doe tags we got. I'll report back hopefully as I plan on using the shotgun for the afternoon hunt after church.

Powder to be used is Hodgdon "Lil Gun" per the guys at super18tungstenshot.com
Will shoot the loads from my Retay Gordion and Remington 870 super mag.

With the larger shot size there will be more volume due to the space between the pellets so you may have to remove some of the felt filler wads that go in the base of the plastic shot wad.
Keep in mind the TSS is super hard, unlike lead, and will not deform when it hits your target so the holes won't have the trauma like lead but will punch straight thru very clean and will leave a minimal blood trail if any.
Keep us posted and some autopsy pictures would be great. Good luck !

grease up the front of the hull prior to using the roll crimp, slick results(vasoline). You will have to play with the speeds on a drill press to find out which speed works best for you. The Russain 4 pin roll crimper is really good.

I have some extra hand crank roll crimpers if anyone has any interest, they are old and they work.
