ACCURACY ISN'T THE POINT!!

Whatever the nose design, jacket and core must hew to tight tolerance for best
accuracy. Sierra, renowned for match-winning hollowpoints, keeps
jacket thickness within .0003 and bullet weight within .3 grain.
Dave Emary, long Hornady's ace ballistician, says,
"A critical factor for accuracy is the distance between center of gravity
{CG} and center of pressure {CP}. It's hard to measure because it's there
only in the in flight. For a bullet that flies point-on, CP doesn't matter.
But if there's lift or yaw, CP far from the CG affects stability.
"That's one reason flat-base bullets often shoot as well as or better than boattails.
Also, there's one less variable at the heel. And when the shank of the
flat-base bullet clears the muzzle, there's no tail for gas to wag.
"Dave clains that, on the average, flat-hase bullets go to sleep
sooner in flight.

+1
Now days to much emphasis is placed on Bullet BCs and not the construction (Quality) of the bullet. Also It is very important to find out what the barrel likes and not get hung up on BC numbers.

For pure accuracy, often flat based bullets will out perform boat tails At normal hunting distances and give up very little. for extended distance the Boat Tailed bullets have the edge if they are just as accurate at close range.

With some bullets and twist rates, flat based bullets have more bearing surface and engrave in the rifling better.

Considering the RPM a bullet is turning Quality and construction equates to the balance and flight characteristics of the bullet.

Just my opinion
