Reloading 270wsm

I want to start reloading for my 270 wsm browning A-bolt. I was wondering what loads, brass, primers, bullets do you guys use, and any tips and recommendations. I've been using a super x power point 150 grain
Sako A7 fed215M 69g Rel26 Berger 140 vld @3250. Very accurate.

After rebarreling my Winchester M-70 270WSM with a match grade #5 tapered 26" barrel and bedding all that to a Brown Precision "pounder" arimid/Kevlar stock and then putting a Leupold 3-18X50MM MOA dot scope. I went out to tune some 180 grain Berger VLD hunting slugs to my gun.. great results. best results were Win or Federal LR Mag primers. with mid-top end loads. mostly got 3" groups are 800 yards when the Western Nevada winds were calm. W/O magnum primers I got mixed results.
In response to the original questions..
Nosler cases (hunting) when not using Winchester cases for practice
Berger Slugs VLD target or VLD hunters 180 grain (the rifle loves 150, 160, 170 and 180 grain slugs) (truth be known.. it also loves 140 & 150 grain Barnes TSX and TTSX)
Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primers,
0.015" to 0.020" off the lands (Barnes 0.065" to 0.090" off the lands)
brass trimmed to max length
I am far away from my load log book. I can only let you know that the powders I use; H4831, Retumbo, if you can find it.. H-870/AA8700, My rifle is finicky when it comes to Alliant Reloader powders.. it will like certain RL's powder charges for certain weights of slugs.

Have played with Magpro in other Rifle Winchester 1885 falling blk, accuracy was Stellar and Speed also ! Ps both rifles 1/10 twist !,cheers .

I completely forgot my other 270WSM, this is a Kimber 8400 Montana... one of the best guns I have ever owned. you put a 140 or 150 grain slug in it you get 1/2 MOA accuracy or better if you tune the load for the gun. it loves H-4831, mag primers, uniform necks and mid to upper range powder charges. the brass I use for this gun are Nosler. nothing else compares in this gun. that also rings true for my Winchester 70. because of the length of the projo, Barnes 130 and 140 grain slugs work well in both of my guns.
that is all..
Later Suckers! a Smith and Wesson K-frame needs TLC and an internal polish and debur job.

I have an excellent 130gn Hornady GMX load.
61.0gn IMR4350, Federal Brass, CCI250 mag primer, OAL = 2.850"
3150fps

Thanks I appreciate

As for myself Norma Brass
I have used Rem ,Win,Fed ,Brass
With less than satisfactory results
Not bad but not nearly as good as Norma with least amount of work of the brass .
I have two 270 wsm One factory and one custom.
The factory has a 24" barrel with 1 in 10 twist that absolutely loves
Retumbo and 140 Berger's.

The custom has a 26" barrel and 1 in 8 twist So far it likes Retmbo and 170 gn Berger's. I have used many powders all that have been listed previously and then some. Retumbo has just out preformed them all for me . Good luck and enjoy!

He probably has the most useful information concerning the 270 wsm.
He may even chime in on this conversation sooner or later.

Nosler brass, WLMR primers, 63g RL22, Hornady 145g ELD-X bullet, chronograph at 3020fps. .5MOA group at 100yrds Through my Tikka T3 Lite 270wsm. Dropped an elk at 680yrds. Tried 150g Accubond Long Range bullets, best group was 1.5MOA. Go with the ELD-X bullets and RL22

I have a sako 85 finnlight that works awesome with 129gr Barnes lrx, rl-26, cci250 and Norma brass. I've tried every bullet out there and was really surprised with Barnes performance.
