Yessir, its intended use is whitetails out to 500 yds. I have 100% faith it will handle that duty beautifully.

I have'nt shot an animal with it yet but based on others' experience with Hammers I believe it'll kill like a lightning bolt. It sure does shoot sweet.

I had the #1 for a while as well. What an awesome rifle. It seems they did not make a #1 in 257bee without gorgeous timber.

I have plans to switch the composite factory stock on mine to a custom wooden piece of art. Too late this year (6 month turnaround on what I want). I'll have to wait til right after the upcoming season so my rifle's not AWOL when I need it.

I have a Mark V Accumark Limited, shooting 98 grain Shockhammers. 77.7 gr RL26 produced a .246" 5 shot group @ 3915 fps avg velocity.

With the 100 TTSX and 75.5 of H1000 I'm hitting 3540 out of a factory Vanguard. Great groups at just over 1/2 MOA consistently. 24" bbl. 26" would be better. I've killed several antelope & deer with this combo.

Reading great reviews on these Barns Triple X BT bullets . So acquired a box of 100gr Blue tipped bullets ,what are some suggested loads ?

7828, R22 would both perk well for you. Perhaps R26 as well? Back when I was using the 257 Wby I mainly used 7828 and a 100 Horn sp for all that moved from tweety to elks
