Yes sir. There is a REASON why wolves were eradicated in the lower 48 by the pioneers and it WASN'T cause ammo was cheap at Walmart. Another lesson of history the left has forced us to repeat.....

I'm 100% for regulated hunting but you give 2 reasons why this "leads to the same results." Absolutely nothing to do with humans encroachment and populations. "Lack of balance" seems to define humanity as I see it right now. I am having a hard time seeing your point, as eradication of any American species like the bison or the indigenous people, is one of the worst examples of humanity and one of the most ignorant lessons of the past we can possibly learn from. Some folks say "never again" and they mean it.

We have got to accept the fact that the land scape will never be what it was, read the Lewis and Clark journals, they had bear troubles from South Dakota across the plains to about where I'm at in MT. Where there was buffalo there were Grizz, we can not have Grizz populations out of balance to the Buffalo without deviating other species, same with the wolf, we do not have free range buffalo yet we are expanding all these predator numbers, the largest in size and numbers ungulate is missing from the landscape how does anyone in their right mind think we should be seeing grizz and wolf thick in areas where the number one prey is gone.

Not to mention transplanting them into areas they were historically absent from or few and far between, ie cabinet yaak...I know families who homesteaded these parts and they just weren't around in numbers like these. I will grant more people equals more sightings, but I do think these salty old hombres had a pretty good idea who was in their neighborhood. The trouble arrives when ologist's with agendas are allowed to dictate what "balance" was and should be. I have spoken to some and their target numbers are off the charts. Might be my geographic location that gives me a distrust of officials or perhaps history itself. However I think the good folks of Colorado may be in line for a taste

Well here you have a hellacious argument....bear and wolves...being nurtured to spread across the country.....i dont like it at all...i think those numbers need to be drastically cut....the bears and wolves are harming the one critter in the woods that has the lowest population numbers and should be provided the
MOST PROTECTION EVERYWHERE.....
Bigfoot..sasquatch..the hairy man...whatever you want to call him...
All these reintroduced wolves and uncontrolled populations of bears are putting Bigfoot(male, female and kids(for lack of knowledgeable term) at risk of becoming extinct.....and we as hunters, conservationist, and human beings should be looking to save them from the overburden of a pack of wolves or a grizzly bears...
That's where i stand.....
We know Bigfoot exist...its time to protect the species...

Drilldog I had a extremely close encounter once and a false charge once and believe me when I say it's a life changing event.
Its been several years and I still have dreams about it.In some dreams I don't make it.
I carry a 44 mag with 310 gr hard cast bullets with enough W296 to shoot through a Grizz from front to back and I still feel its not enough.Just re-telling the event makes me shake and at times I can still smell his breath!
A close friend was bull rushed by a grizz and was knocked down the side of a hill into a dry creek bed.A few broken ribs and a dozen stiches later We left the hospital in Helena.
Even one close encounter is too much and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Well..i can say i have seen one horned deer and elk....have you......still haven't seen a unicorn(horned horse)...

Yep. Guys don't want any competition, or have to worry about being in the woods. Grizzlies are moving into my area. Not a **** thing I can do about it except be prepared as I can. Wolves have been here a long time. Prepared for them too. Some need an excuse why they can't kill an elk. Predators are a convenient scapegoat. Seems some guys here want predator free hunting. Ain't gonna happen. mtmuley

Ummmm There is a herd of Bison across the river from me, and thousands in a herd about 40 miles south of me. There are indian reservations all over the country full of "indigenous people"..... So how were they erradicated? And we are talking about Grizzly bears, not bison and indians.

Can you point out the posts where anyone said anything about eradicating the Grizzlies?

I live with these bears , they can track up the barnyard and house area, break into the hen house and grain. These bears are not aggressive towards the other livestock though.
They will act far more aggressively in the bush, over a carcass or when a hunter cow talks. I have seen them come in hard.
Good luck hitting them with anything doesn't spray ( preferably a pattern). They can have a big stride in rough country, imo.
