Rebuilt 700 in 270 Win

I've customized a handful of Rem 700 rifles in the 270 Win caliber. Never could get Nosler brass to work either. ES was high like others have experienced. All of the guns shoot Winchester brass, Proof Sendero Light barrel in 1-8 twist, the 170gr EOL, .5 MOA or better, 59.5-60.7 grains of H1000 at velocities from 2830-2895. All of the ES's for every gun are under 25 fps. Guns are throated an extra .110". The necks on the new Winchester brass are rough and not round outta the bag. I rework the necks and have a process I use with mandrels and a bushing die and just a hand feel of how the final mandrel comes out of the neck. My 7Mag builds with my neck process my ES is under 15fps.

I bought my Rem700 30-06 in 1969, started reloading then and did not have a chronograph for a long time. I developed a load that produced bug holes on the target at 150yds. I loaded up 1000 rounds of this load and am still shooting out of that batch today with the same accuracy. Many years later I took the opportunity to shoot with a buddy that has a chronograph. To my dismay my ES numbers were not what we expected from such an accurate round. I just accepted the fact that the ES numbers were weird and took the on target results as the reality of it all.
