I own a number of bipods, everything fom Atlas to Harris to Amazon/chinesium grade. I prefer the notched leg style when it comes to Harris style bipods. I have gotten very good service out of some of the cheap Harris clones from Amazon(CVLife is one that comes to mind). Admittedly they haven't seen a ton of hard field use, but they do get used frequently and do everything they are advertised to do. Are they an Atlas? No, but they definitely represent a good value, which allows me to put bipods on rifles that would otherwise have to share a more expensive unit. Spend what you can. Often in this arena of shooting sports the mantra of "buy once, cry once" applies, but not always. The only bipod I ever had "fail" was a Harris that lost a foot pad. They sent me a replacement free of charge.
