Realistic 284 winchester velocities

I got the 150gr Nosler PT to 2800+ Browning A-Bolt barrel is 21 3/8" from action face to end of barrel 2.800" COAL

It did not meet 2800fps w the H4831sc

That was more a bread and butter load, fill a case up, it runs safe......lose 50-100ish fps, from what I learned so far
Someone else described H-4831 & H-4831sc as NOT "High Intensity" Powder and I agree w that

I bet H4350 will get you there, I tried it and I can't recall if it was that or different bullet types whereas bullet impact to target was wayyyy off zero.

Showed pressure on primers with 0.5 increments in charges. I was a little intimated that a little might go a long way with H4350 and tried other powders.

If you digital powder drop every load maybe H4350 is for you

Reloder15 really sketched me out but if you want speed its there.....for sure....but be careful load density was low IIRC

I'm enthusiastic about Ramshot Hunter but we all know how it can go when the chronograph tells you what's up 🙂

*Ramshot Hunter came up to pressure before Max Load in my experience w 30-06 got to pull a few down I don't dare fire*

I loaded some today. the 140, 145 and 150 grainers were loaded with hunter. Have 5 different loads for each bullet weight. I also loaded some with AA4350 and RE17. The 130 grainer are sitting on top of both the AA and RE17. I didn't load the 130's with hunter just yet. Pretty much started at 52.5 grains with the 145 lrx and 150 grain NBT the 145's are longer than the 150's though. Both are loaded to 2.900 though the recommended length for the tipped barnes. 53.5 grains with the 130 grain hotcors and 140 grain HPBT's. We are going to see how it goes the next few days. Hopefully I can get out and shoot once the weather calms after tomorrow.

No more than 400 yards. Mostly White tail Deer. A possibility of Antelope and Mule deer.
Ok that 130-140 is a great deer bullet out to 500 yards for sure. I only shoot the 160 class but should really look at the 140 class. I have 6.5s that I use the 130-140s in so I have that weight range covered. My 257s run 115-130s.
