Re#26 and the 338-378

Has anyone tried Re#26 in this beast of a cartridge ?

I did with 275 grain bullets, I did not get very good results.

I stick with Retumbo now

What grain bullet are you using?

Right now 230 gr Hornady ELD-X . I have a bunch of Re#33 and #25,26 and Retumbo . Might shoot up to 300 gr bullets after this. What rifle is yours, do you have an after market brake on it ? I'm thinking of a 5 port baffle brake .

I have an accumark that was rebarreled with a 29" heavy full bull barrel and a McMillan stock. I have a 5 port brake on it.

I have got 300 grain Berger's up to 3000 FPS with slight primer cratering. Retumbo powder.

Right now my load of choice is a 275 grain RMB with 107 grains of Retumbo @ 3050 FPS. No pressure.

What barrel length do you have?

26" with factory Brake . Who makes your BBL and 5 port brake,happy with it ? I was amazed how the recoil wasn't bad at all,but if I can reduce it even more I will.
