RBROS 6.5-06 AI with 143 ELD-X

I backed off to 3080, 3100 leaves ejector swipes. Accuracy and SD both really prefer the high pressure. SD dropped to the low single digits, but brass life is too short and I don't want to smoke the throat, so I'm trying 26, H1000, and Retumbo.

I've been looking at building one of these (or a .270 AI) for my daughters. How is the recoil with a 140gr. bullet if any of you have a sub 10# rifle?

Also, with your H4831 and Retumbo loads how full are the cases? Is a max charge of either even close to a compressed load or is there still a lot of room in the case?

Thanks for the informaiton, I must admit I was surprised by some of the velocities as well. Really makes me think the .270 would be really good as well. Slightly lower sectional density, and very close to the same B.C., thoughts?

My wife shoots one of R Bros 65-06 AI she has shot hers out to 1290 yards the recoil is about like a 243 the loads or not compressed in her rifle the ff load run's 2950 and the hot load run's 3151 she is shooting 140 berger VLD hunting bullets

Rifle shoots horrible. Send it to me and I'll fix it and return it you when it's perfect.

LOL

Nice!
I picked up this rifle a few weeks ago from Travis at RBros Rifles.

Decided to try the new ELD-X and see how they do.

Weight of the Hornady ELD-X bullets varies about .5 grains on both sides of 143, of the 20 or so I weighed I got weights from 142.5-143.5. The Ogives differ by a total of .005

after sighting in and shooting the brass once to Fire Form to the chamber I loaded a few to check charge weights. By the way the FF loads shot very well with 140 VLD's and the 143 ELD-x

11 shots with FF loads at 100 yards in a 15 MPH wind from right to left. Adjusted scope after first shot and fired the last 10.

this is 7 shots with FF loads at 100 yards with the 143 ELD-X in a variable wind from right to left

These are load work up testing full power loads with the 143 ELD-X, I loaded 5 of each and shot three at these targets then two over the Magnetospeed.
200 yards 59. 59.5 and 60 gr Powder

I had a few 59.5 left (loaded 15 of these to zero scope and foul the bore) made easy hits at 710 and 903 on steel to verify bullet BC.
