Rangefinder carry

I also have to vote for the Alaska Guide Creations. Wish I would have had one of these the last 25 years. I carry my binoculars and rangefinder with ease. Also nice slot on the top for the cell phone if needed. Very well
made

So, a rangefinder is necessary for long range hunting.....I carried mine in a nice Horn Hunter pouch...then I lost the strap. The new one is just different.

So, I'm lost. How do you carry your rangefinder in the field? Looking for a solution/gift idea.

I carry mine hooked to my Bino pouch, so it is easily accessible. I also have a pair of Leica Geovids. But hooking it to my bino pouch has worked really well

I use a tactical belt with harness and little molle pouches for rangefinder, Binos, kestrel, and water bottle

Estimating distance using MRAD math as the military does. I do not do that but I know it works. I have no intention of shooting at a game animal over 500yds away. I don't want to injure an animal I want it DRT

Put it in your pocket, there are alot of small ones that are real good, but I usually just range with the scope saves time and is accurate if you know how to do it. And evan if I do range it with range finder I double check it with the scope, weird things happen.

Horn hunter as well. I think the magnet and sleeve setup is the best for quickly and silently getting ranges on elk that are coming to call at archery range. Took off the HH harness though and swapped on an AGC. Muuuch more comfortable.

I finally got tired of carrying so much crap. I mostly hunt from a comfortable blind. This year I sold my binos AND rangefinder, Bought the SIG range-finding bino's.
Cant believe I didn't do this earlier. I HIGHLY suggest this.

I use the Alaskan Guide , 'Alaska Classic Max" Harness system. It has a special bungee for a range-finder and tons of room for everything I need for a 4 hour seat.

bino shoulder harness -- cause they are rangefinder binos

I started out that way with the old Leupold RB800. Loved the concept, hated the performance from the binoculars and range finder. So I went to 10X42 binos and a hand held rangefinder. After spending some time behind the Leica Geovid HD 10X42 I'm going back to range finding binoculars in the very near future.

My Leica 1600 is the size of a pack of cigarettes. so I carry it in my shirt pocket, on a lanyard

I tend to over research everything and looked at all available bino harness options. I chose the Marsupial harness in the end. It does have a rangefinder option add-on but I use rangefinding binos so it wasn't required. I chose the Marsupial for the following reasons: Compact, protective flap opens forward and is held easily flush out of the way, one handed operation so I can keep eyes on the game, and cell phone pocket in the back. I was a little surprised that it is not more popular as to me the design addresses some shortcomings in the others.
