Ramshot Hunter 30 06 and 6.5CM

Easy fix to make your rifle more pleasant to shoot. That's why I never bought into recoil tables. The pad makes a huge difference and you will shoot much better if your rifle doesn't hurt you.
My FWT 30-06 is pretty terrible to shoot from a recoil standpoint. However, my extreme weather with a CF McMillan, which is obviously lighter, is far more pleasant to shoot. Stock geometry is never accounted for in recoil tables.

Yup. I'm a firm believe that stock design and pad makes a huge difference in felt recoil. If the stock is a poor design or doesn't fit well you'll feel the recoil much more.

That is true about stocks. My Sako a7 30-06 has a Bell and Carlson stock. It has a rather mild felt recoil.
