Doggies ! Don't throw it in the far! LOL. It sure is a purdy piece and will make a g-orgus stock for some luky guy. Really, you do have an excellent piece of quilted maple. Hard to find. Hope someone here recognizes the quality of the blank and takes it off your hands. I used to love buying blanks and turning them into stocks. But I'm way past that ability now. Bummer getting old.

Thank you! Yes sir, quilted maple is a west coast only thing....very rare to find it thick enough to make a stock

When my Uncle returned from Vietnam he found two curly maple blanks and brought them to a guy in San Francisco to turn into stocks. He put them on Rem 721's. He gave one to my Grandpa and the other to my Grandpa's hunting buddy. My Uncle now has the one that was my Grandpa's back and the other was lost for many years after the other man passed away. I found it about 10 years ago, a local FFL had it stashed away and I saw it and knew the story on it so he sold it to me and I gave it to my Dad. I'll get some pictures of it. Heavy but absolutely amazing.

Adam, that's a wonderful story with a good ending. One of these stocks may have a a story to tell too.
