I've decided I'm gonna pull the trigger on this load.... QL, 89% case fill, 113.9grs 24N41. Gonna load two... If the first one is uneventful, the second will show me an average speed. Poor average, yes, but don't see the need for more at this pressure, really. I'll post back

Wow, definitely not for faint hearted!! My hat is off to you folks who build wildcats!!! Design a cartridge? Ok. Build it? Again, ok. Actually put powder in it, pull it up close to your face, and touch it off? Ballsy. Much more respect your way from me !!
The first one I lit off was the hardest. After that, the second one, not so much. Those two averaged 2987fps. Here is what bothers me, tho. The primers flattened. Around .003 total growth, at a low speed, comparatively.

This I know. It's VERY intimidating, knowing that a light charge can detonate when pressure is induced...
your way to low on powder charge. the flat primers are from being pushed back into boltface before the case had a chance to expand at that low pressure and when it did it reseated the primer. had that happen the first time i worked with a bore rider throat design, the pressure was way too low and as pressure came up the primers stopped flattening. you need to make a big swing on your powder charge remember those two powders are pretty close. your using 124.5 with BMG but only 113.9 with VV. the pressure between the two are supper close for the same powder charge. even know the velocities are faster with VV.
THIS IS ME AND NOT A RECOMMENDATION. jump 3.0gr and then 1.0gr for three more shots and record velocities and watch for pressure signs, case head expansion and bolt lift. if you feel more comfortable make small adjustments. i bet that load is only 45,000-46,000psi.

Mike I saw your comments about QL Weighting factory from Van der Walt, and I noticed that GRT uses a "sebert factor" which is defined as "The Sebert factor defines the amount of propellant mass flowing together with the bullet through the barrel"
Is this a better weighting factor to use? Is the Sebert factor by Van Dde Walt in your opinion also wrong?

I haven't looked at the math for either weighting or Sebert factors.
They sound very similar functionally.
Basically, the case that holds powder back to burn in the chamber, wins, efficiency-wise.
Sending a slug of unburned powder down the bore, against the back of your bullet, then flashing off at the muzzle to cause secondary pressure peaks, loses.

Ahh. Hence a higher factor in QL for straight wall cases; am I getting that right?
