Question about loading for 3006

Referring to the TTSX, have loaded a ton of those in my 308 win. Barnes bullets love a good jump to the lands. I always start at .060 of the lands. Once I find my OCW load, I then try farther to see if I can get improvement.
the great thing about Hammer bullets is that they don't care how much jump or little that you load them

Somewhat true but there's always a sweet spot for accuracy and it definitely matters for pressure. Same has happened for me with the Badlands, Barnes, and Hammers but there always seems to be that one range of seating depth they perform better, accuracy and pressures.

For 500 and in, deer and hogs, I would load Speer BTSP in 150 or 165 grains or 168 A-Max, H4350 is a superb choice for all of them though with the 150 I would definitely try Varget as well. All three of these bullets are very accurate, easy to load and kill extremely well. They are also some of the lowest price bullets out there so you can afford to shoot a lot. Sierra Gamekings are also very good, but cost considerably more than the bullets I previously mentioned. I don't see the need to try to make a '06 into a magnum or complicated loading, they typically shoot really well without a lot of work and good old cup and core bullets work amazingly well at normal '06 speeds.

Good post. Provably accurate.
