hello im new to the forum and have some questions on public land hunting in tx.
first off im from south texas and have always hunted in a ranch from a blind, until this last September when I went to canda and hunted caribou, the spot and stalk was such a rush that I don't know if I can sit in a blind and hunt anymore. ive heard that there is free range hunting in west texas and am interested in trying it out. I don't really care about trophy as much as I do the challenge of the hunt. so as far as my questions go..
1. what do I have to do to go on the public lands and how would I go about getting permits and such?
2. what kind of animals can be hunted all year and which have seasons besides whitetail?
any and all extra info would be appreciated, thanks
