I have a few savage actions that I swap out barrels on and it takes about 10-15 minutes. I have to resight scopes after swapping, I've never tried to keep track of adjustments for each barrel. I'll actually be swapping my 22cm barrel on for the 6.5cm barrel this morning. Accuracy doesn't change with previously worked up loads when switching the barrels. Tools needed are a good barrel vice, action wrench and headspace gauges.

I did the same in the past, but it is not worth my effort anymore. I prefer dedicated rifles set-up as per intended purpose.

I think of them as dedicated platforms with different cartridge options.....this one I'm switching this morning is set up for open light NRL hunter with the 6.5cm barrel to make power factor but prefer the 22cm when i'll actually be hunting with it. I'm going to do some varmint and pig hunting tonight so i'm throwing on the 22cm barrel and will swap it back to 6.5cm before the first match in 2025. My other action with multiple barrels is set up mostly for my son and have a 223 barrel and 7.62x40 barrel for that one although I haven't used the 7.62x40 barrel in a while.

I have plenty of set-ups in varying cartridges/chamberings to not worry about switching barrels. Like I said, I used to do the same thing but not anymore.

You may check out the switch lug from ,WEST TEXAS ORDANCE , very simple all you need is an Allen wrench ,to torque to 30 in pounds . Several years ago I built a switch lug with doubts in head spacing accuracy etc , being I have and been around building and head spacing rifles for many years ,the switch lug works . If you change cartridges with different case head diameters , you will need a different size bolt head , extra bolt or bolt head . I used a CURTIS AXIOM SHORT ACTION for the 300 WSM and 6.5 PRC same bolt same magazine , this rifle has become my favorite out of many custom builds . Very simple concept. Good luck , check out WTO . STRAIGHT JACKET ARMORY IN WYOMING uses their switch lug for profits also.

WhatsThe tan stock?

Looking around a bit the last few days I seen Terminus makes a quick change action that looks super slick for changing barrels, even bolts/bolt diameters. I think I'll check into that a bit more. Maybe on a chassis for ease of adjustment. Thanks for all the replies, too many options, never enough money 🤣
