I came across a gem today and thought I'd start a fun thread. I didn't hunt till 2000 when a friend showed me the ropes right after I got out the Marines.
You can find mine on a cave wall in West TexasI am not sure there were cameras back then when I took my first deer. Anyway, what is up with the partial skinning of the back legs on that deer? Surely, that is not an illinois thing since I hunt up there every year and have never seen that before.
It was to hang on the gambrel hoist system in that shop. Could roll them straight into the walk-in fridge.I am not sure there were cameras back then when I took my first deer. Partial skinning up from the hock while on the ground works way better than trying to start skinning while hanging, it keeps tons of hair from going on the meat. I learned that from professional butchers at Dicks Double Wrap in Missoula 40 years agoI am not sure there were cameras back then when I took my first deer.
