Hi Guys,
Petrol prices here in the UK have finally passed the £1 a litre mark, thats $9.00 a gallon to you guys! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
The oil companies here are blaming Hurricane Catrina, i think they are talking out of their arses. Oh and the government tells us that the duty we pay on our petrol is lower then it was 6 years ago, more ********.(dont know if you know but over 70% of the price is tax). This goes to show how a government can treat its electorate with total contempt.

We are all saddened with the utter devistation caused by Hurricane Catrina and our best wishes go out to all those who were caught up in it, we were also shocked at how quickly the city fell into lawlessness.

From reports given out by our news agencies it seems that apart from wide scale looting, drug dealing and prostitution rings were set quickly and several people had been assaulted and murdered, thankfully you have an armed society and can protect yourselves from these lawless people.

If this were to happen in the UK i am sure that squads of police would be sent out to confiscate all legally held firearms in order to stop us using them to protect ourselves our families and our property. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Must get some petrol in the morning, £20 wont go far.
Thought i was seeing things last Thursday 93.5p/ltr, three days before i paid 88.9p/ltr.
If the British in our democratic right should happen to attempt what happened five years ag, the army will be called in, effectively fighting their own people!
Easy revenue to help pay for the additional £115k pa expenditure on top of their pay, i am sure our US friends would tolerate this much like the French would.

I agree, the French would be burning cars on the Champs Elise AND the cops would be on their side!
I will also ask, why do most of the people of this once great country stand by and let it all happen, i will tell you why, they are scared of confrontation and others say "if it dont affect me i aint bothered".
Those that do protest are branded "maniacs" and "outlaws". Protesting FAC holders must be very carefull not to infringe any laws and by-laws at the risk of loosing their Firearms licences.
People think twice about protesting against things that are not PC and when they do the government does not listen anyway.

Ian,, same crap here in kraut land.. prices gone through the roof. my fuel bill has increased by 130% in 5 years.
I"m running on LPG as with 50 thousand miles a year i can't afford to run petrol anymore, hell i even ran cooking out from Aldi in my last diesel,.
the new of roadish tyres ( BF Goodrich AT TA) on mz pajero have upped the fuel consumption by 10% also.. I just bought a ford escort and am getting it converted,, only use the 4x4 when hunting pigs of when its snowing.. that will cut my fuel bill ( which is 300 quid a month even with LPG) in half..
I"m all for having the whole nation just walk to work one day, all traffic stand still.
The **** politicians rip us off but squander money on this EU parliament, give thier selves wage rised, expense acounts that we dream of earning as a wage,,

it will end in civil unrest one day, they know it and thats why they want our guns..
