Just wondering if anyone has tried Peterson 300 Winchester Mag (Long) brass? The long means the head space is off the shoulder and not on the belt. I just bought 3 boxes from Euro Optics. Time will tell if its a bust or a hit. I know it's been out for around a year and was hoping for any advice.
Thanks again,
Jason

I've been wondering about this brass myself and thinking about replacing my Norma brass with it when the time comes. Sounds like a good concept. Just waiting on good reviews.

Mmm,I'm far from an expert but I read good reviews on Petersen.
I own a .300wm but my current obsession is the .280ai and I read great reviews on Petersen .280ai brass

It is terrible, I will do you a favor and take it off from you for whatever you paid for it.

🤣 Good stuff! The dimensions are much closer to SAAMI than standard brass just as advertised. Much less case stretched on first shot, thus extending brass life. So far, I haven't loaded more than 3x on several lot loads I am shooting but primer pockets tight, minimal lengthening, so pretty happy with performance. I bought 250 bulk on a chance and thrilled I did.

There is a thread on LRH on weights etc. Go shoot it and bet you are glad you bought it.

I have looked to see if they do the "Long" on the 7mm Rem Mag as well, but I do not think they do. Anyone found them before?

Yes I grabbed 100 pieces last time Graf's had it. It's become my favorite brass very consistent. I only bump the shoulders when sizing and the long brass only takes one firing to form to my chamber where as typical brass take 2 or 3 before it's fully formed. I'm only up to four firings on some so time will tell if they hold up in the long run but the pockets are just as tight as day 1 and I'm pushing the 200gr eldx 3075fps from a 24" tube.

Sounds like I found a winner. This all started from when Bruno's sent me a email saying they have Lapua 300 Winchester Mag brass in stock. Of course when I payed attention it was sold out, so the hunt began. When I stumbled on the long Peterson brass I was stoked because it's always sold out when I have been looking in the past. Thanks for all the positive reviews, can't wait to give it a try.

Let me know how the Peterson 280ai brass is I'm having one built now. Jon Beanland is building it and I have both Peterson and Nosler. The Peterson 280ai brass was hard to come by and I heard not as soft as Nosler brass. I have a few more months before finished so I can't give you any advice. Good luck with your new caliber.

I have a 280AI being built and have Peterson brass ready to go when the rifle is ready so I'd be curious to hear any results.

Send brass to me and I can send you results 🤭

I will buy some Petersen when I see them, gotta be worth a go.

I have been playing with the .280ai when I can but I need to get out hunting.

My experience as well…

It is truly very nice brass, packaged beyond belief. My now go to brass.
I know nothing about this long brass for the .300. Headspace off the shoulder? How is that gonna work on a cartridge with a belt? Somebody fill me in on this, curious.

The brass is manufactured closer to SAAMI tolerances which means closer head spacing to a fired case. Thus minimal case stretch. I found my new brass to be 0.0025 off my chamber which obviously is where you would FL size to anyway. So starting off with first load being right where you want to be. Problem is finding it!!
